Meet Our Team
Morgan McNally School CounselorI was born and raised in Raleigh, NC! I attended North Carolina State University and earned my B.A in Psychology and minors in Sociology and Spanish. (Go Pack!!) After I received my Masters in School Counseling at The College of William and Mary. Williamsburg VA will always be one of my favorite places. This will be my 6th year working as elementary school counselor and I have loved every minute of it. I believe strongly in equity and that every child has the right to come to school to learn and be loved. I love being outdoors; whether it’s hiking and exploring new places with friends or just hanging out and chillin’ in a hammock. If I could eat queso for every meal, I think I would. No really, it’s a true problem for me. You can ask my husband. I’ve only spent two years at Salem Elementary but it has always felt like home for me!

Lauren UptonSchool NurseMy name is Lauren Upton and I have been a nurse for 12 years and school nurse since 2019. I am a native NC girl, born and raised in western North Carolina. I graduated from NC State (Go Pack!) with BS and obtained my BSN from NC Central. I am excited to serve a school that has served my family as both of my children have walked the halls of our school. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, Wolfpack sports and being outside, especially gardening. I am grateful for the opportunity to get to know Salem ES in a different capacity as their nurse!

Christina JenkinsPart-time School CounselorI am a native South Floridian, I LOVE warm weather and sunshine. As a first generation college student, I attended Berry College (most beautiful campus anywhere!) in Rome, Georgia where I earned my BS in Biology and Psychology with a minor in Chemistry. After Berry, I attended Wake Forest University and earned my MA Ed in School Counseling and Higher Education Student Personnel. I worked for 10 years in Durham County as a Counselor and then moved to Wake County where I served as a counselor at Apex Elementary for 10 years. During my time at Apex, I earned my Masters in School Leadership from Campbell University. I moved into administration work and then retired from Carpenter Elementary in 2017 after 30 plus years in education. I soon realized that I was not fulfilled in retirement and have been fortunate to fill some interim roles, which has brought me to Salem. I am thrilled to be joining the Salem family as a part-time counselor! Being in the school environment and working with students, teachers, and parents is an honor and what I enjoy doing so very much. After raising two wonderful kids who are products of the Wake County Schools, my husband and I are now empty nesters. I love the beach and being in my kitchen. Baking/cooking up recipes is my favorite way to relax. Mexican food is a huge weakness for me and always has been. One thing you need to know is that I am absolutely in love with my 16 year old orange cat named Jack O’Lantern and often share “Jack” stories with the students. |
