Ask your student: - Can you name one way we can share kindness with others? Lesson 3: Showing Empathy to Others We read the book Chocolate Milk, Por Favor by Maria Desmondy. Ask your student: -What are some ways we can celebrate diversity in our school? Home? Neighborhood? Lesson 4: Sharing We listened to the story The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister. After we did an activity where we practiced sharing without friends and classmates. Ask your student: - Tell me about the activity with the erasers? Did you get one? Lesson 2: Perseverance We read a story about Perseverance called Jabari Jumps by Gala Cornwall. Ask your student: -What does the word perseverance mean? - Can you name one time you showed perseverance? Lesson 3 and 4: Funny Tummy Feelings Funny Tummy Feelings is a WCPSS required program that teaches first graders about appropriate and inappropriate touch. Prior to the lesson in your students class, a flyer will go home to families. |
